// NEWS + UPDATES 22/04/2026
Hello there, many delayed wishes and I hope you spent happy and calm holidays with your loved ones!
I think I need this, at the moment, lots of things have happened, in a pretty short timeframe:
Got into Contra and specifically:
Buildathons for money prizes!
As you know, money is short almost always, so I decided to get into some competitive spirit and start working and exploring different tools to take part into contests and to build ideas.
So far I've taken part in:
Notion AI Agent Buildathon (done - did not win anything - pretty solid experience, and one of the winning submission was an idea similar to mine!)
Omma by Spine, 3D Tool Buildathon (done - did not win anything - frustration with fun mostly, and I've helped a friend with another project she made!)
FLORA Technique Buildathon (done - waiting for results - Mostly frustration and the way the final creation is presented to the user is different from what I've had in mind.)
Zo Computer Buildathon (still active - 20 hours remaining - Quite fun to be honest and easier-2-use than it looks like. It's a pretty versatile tool and you can do lots of things with it.)
Even though I'm used to losing, I've done something I haven't done, since I was in grade school. Actually took part in a competition! I didn't expect to be in this space mentally, maybe it's the Aries season, but still I got into it, I contacted other competitors, I've attended the winning announcements event from the Notion buildathon and it was a nice experience for a first small-scale, very-targeted and specific platform and theme contest.
Completed projects with timelines, got my first client to build a design portfolio upon (I'll talk about this in another post) , I've developed a kind of new perspective and my creative process a little bit more with the new tools I've used.
Furthermore,
The regular work has officially started.
There's a lot more than what I thought it would be. I've thought that due to the economy, the daily stress, the horror-lust the mainstream media, love spreading, has redirected people to be more wise about their spending habits.
Turns out, I'm very very wrong, and silly for thinking that. People still continue to consume like they are going to live only for today and it seems that they tend to spend in order to get away from all of the stressful stuff. Money won't make you happy or save you from your stressors and if it ever does you need to think very carefully on how to allow it to happen effectively.
Other than that,
I've been behind on my coding studies, but for a semi-serious reason.
You see I'm still working on different things other than my coding school, apart from the Buildathons I've mentioned earlier. Some family stuff came up along with a couple of bureaucratic list of actions I need to take in order to be able to go back to my studies. The rest of the things I'm working on, I'll tell you on a different post. The issue with that is that I'm going to stay behind in relation to where my cohort will be. But I feel like, that since these things came up I might have some more time to revise what I did and see clearly, what I want to do. I'll try to take my time to understand the knowledge I've accumulated without feeling bad or sorry I've stayed behind.
Last but not least,
I finally found a Linux Distribution for my laptop.
It is pretty basic, but compatibility wise and out of the box usage is pretty cool. I hope you get to use your favorite stuff as well, everywhere! I don't think I'll ever use Windows ever apart from the work computer and for any program that has no support in Linux. I've done some quality of life updates in some parts of my everyday computer usage and in general, and that allows me to be more consistent to things I want to achieve. It's pretty cool to make mathematically accurate formulas for every-day things or for stuff that is not mathematics.
Thank you for reading so far!
That is all for now. I already feel a little better after writing these down. I'll be posting again soon.
