Easy, Izzie.

On the protection of Privacy.

This is problematic.

So a couple of weeks ago, as I was searching the internet about AI and the significance of data protection through its usage. I've been looking into generic info channels with random individuals sharing their opinion about the rights to privacy and how they are constantly being fundamentally destroyed.

After one hour into this search, I stumble into the YouTube channel of Louis Rossmann, a repair technician with their own studio in Austin. The first video I saw on the channel was this. I looked into a couple of other videos at the end of the video and checked into the description in each one of them. I found the Consumer Rights Wiki that is full of articles about the faulty practices of companies regarding their consumers' rights. It is still being built, and they are in need of people to work on this and build a database of cases and companies.

So after a while, a couple of videos got released, and I learned about the Digital Privacy protection initiative in the EU via this video.

So the main issue that the Chat Control proposal, is trying to tackle child abuse and to set rules to prevent and combat it. I'm not against something like this but to read and screen every chat, every conversation that you have and using this data to train an AI Bot, create patterns to compare to a secret database and pull probable false positives is a HUGE privacy concern on the data and information of the European Union.

In Greece, we have plenty of cases in the last 5 years, since after the COVID Lockdown, that have to do with child abuse and trafficking, unfortunately. It's a serious issue that we need to get to work as both individuals and as members of a society that wants to be healthy.

Creating and implementing something like this has serious implications on how much people get to trust major social media platforms for the day-to-day communications, since they are free and have plenty of features to make our lives easier and talk to friends and family. Inside the proposal, there's a section conveying that the data, emails and conversations of the people that work in the EU Parliament, Europol and possibly the law enforcement agencies in their respectable countries, won't be affected by this proposal and in case it gets effective, their information and chats won't be taken into consideration. This is one of the reasons I find this a bit problematic, no matter how much I want people that hurt children, behind bars.

To me, this looks like teaching a child to run, and instead of teaching it that they should control their breath, what to do in case they fall, feel the ground and keep a specific posture while running, you don't allow them to get outside.

Please read the provided info, do your own research, create an opinion of your own and see things from your own perspective no matter what you choose to do. I hope everything turns out as good as it could be for everyone and for their right to privacy.
